Who is Sean Smith
Sean Smith is an author, coach, and inspirational speaker. His life’s mission is to inspire and empower people to live healthy and prosperous lives in the aggressive pursuit of all their dreams.
Sean’s speaking performances are filled with passion, enthusiasm, excitement, humor, and truth. He causes audience members to examine their lives and their decisions in ways they’ve never thought of before. As a result, Sean’s messages are nothing short of life changing. His high-energy style affects his audiences in ways they will never forget. But most importantly, Sean equips every person he encounters with the tools necessary to believe in and achieve the dreams they once were embarrassed to tell.
In 1986, at the age of 13, Sean was involved in a bicycle accident that, by all accounts, should have
ended his life. This incident framed him as a person, forever altering the way he perceives the world. Sean urges everyone to stop taking their circumstances and possessions for granted because nobody is promised tomorrow.
Over his 15-year athletic career, Sean’s tenacity, work ethic and desire to be the best led him to great individual and team success. He was a team captain at every level of competition in football and baseball. Though most baseball players never make it there, Sean led his baseball teams to 3 different World Series tournaments at the ages of 13, 18, and 23 – an incredibly rare feat! He ended his playing career in the NCAA National Championship title game.
After graduating from California Lutheran University, Sean spent one year as a juvenile probation officer. During that time, he witnessed first hand the supreme importance of vision and goal-setting for young people as they build the foundation for their lives. He has helped countless kids uncover and focus on their true desires. Upon realizing that he wanted to be on the other side of the fence – helping kids stay out of trouble rather than punishing them for crimes already committed – he became a public school teacher.
In his 4-year teaching career, Sean won several awards, served as math department chair for 2 years, developed numerous curriculum programs, and quickly became one of the most respected teachers on campus. After the birth of his first child, Sean walked away from teaching to help raise his family and pursue business interests that could provide the ultimate freedom he desired. He currently owns 2 successful companies, has a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a Master’s degree in Education. Sean is married (Cybil) with two children, McKenna Renae and Ecksley Jeremy.
